Oliver Lee Kaye

About me
Personal Statement

My name is Oliver Kaye, but I prefer Ollie. I am a 22-year-old Architectural Technology student at The University of Huddersfield. Other than architecture and the built environment - which I have a deep ambition to be successful in, I have a passion for travelling and really enjoy capturing life with photography and drawing, I have a true love for nature and enjoy all it has to offer, I also have great interest in astronomy and always loved the thought of floating in space….. We can all dream! Here are a couple of my life goals; Learn to speak Japanese, experience 0 gravity, visit the shire in Matamata.

Although i currently live in england, i spend most of my days as a young boy living in the roural areas of Portugal, Alentajo region of portugal is a relitevly poor area and living is cheep but regardless people here live a happy life, well known for its olives, wines and a peaceful life, really inspires me to make the most of my life and respect everyone and opened my eyes to see theres loads out there, also gave me a taste for nice wines...

I’m a creative, accurate and analytical professional with the skills and confidence to approach difficult situations and harvest solutions. I’m committed to perfection in any situation and feel unsatisfied until accomplished, working well towards undertaking projects independently or as part of a professional design team and been able to contributing thoughts and suggestions.

Currently Undertaking my last year of Architectural Technology course (CIAT accredited) at Huddersfield University and currently at a 2.1 grade but pushing for a 1st. Provided with the opportunity I would continue developing my skills part time and Undertake a Masters Level course in BIM (Building information modelling), which is currently at the full front of the construction/architectural industry.  Although I’ve always wanted to be successful practitioner in architecture, I’ve not been given the chance to have experience with a firm, which would be greatly appreciated, I have a good knowledge of how a building is constructed, how to detail and the software use to make this possible, I also have a good understanding the BIM process.

With a high education understanding of architectural technology and ready to take the next footsteps. Been given the opportunity to work for a successful and knowledgeable practice which are able to share and provide the experience and training to support me achieving the successful career I’ve always visualized and driven towards. One day I aim to become a chartered member of CIAT, and specialise in sustainability and BIM. An end goal of mine would be to be part of an architectural firm specialising in sustainable living for urban areas and been a part of large scale projects such as Eco-cities.
